If that is the case your physical therapist may prescribe core strengthening exercises that can strengthen the ‘belt’ of muscle that supports your spin. These can include sit-ups, crunches, leg raises and other workouts that place pressure on abdominal muscles and thus make them strong enough to keep pain at bay.
